On November 13, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov congratulated participants on the opening of the Gorkut Ata International Festival in Ashgabat. The President expressed belief that the forum of cinematographers will be a significant contribution to improving multifaceted culture and tightening spiritual relations among the Turkic peoples, Turkmenistan: Golden Age eNewspaper reported.
«Today independent Turkmenistan is promoting friendly ties with the countries of the planet in conformity with the goals arising from the legal status of permanent neutrality. Extensive work is ongoing in our country to further strengthen global peace and mutual understanding. We attach great importance to cultural diplomacy in international relations. Because culture and art serve as a bridge of friendship that brings nations together,» the President noted.
Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasised that Turkmenistan attaches great importance to supporting cinematography, making and releasing Turkmen films, hosting film festivals and delegating Turkmen specialists to participate in events abroad.
