President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev delivered a speech at the BRICS+ Summit in Kazan, calling on the states to aim at finding a global compromise through constructive dialogue. In his speech, he emphasised that the world is currently splitting, and more barriers between countries are rising. Mirziyoyev noted that the significant global economic fragmentation contributes to widening the technological gap and exacerbates inequality, the press office of the President of Uzbekistan reported.
He added that the authorities of Uzbekistan are set to boost partnerships with the BRICS Member States.
The Republic intends to effectively harness new opportunities that are opening up within this association and establish close cooperation with the BRICS New Development Bank to implement priority investment and social projects.
The President stressed that Uzbekistan supports the BRICS members in their efforts to promote cooperation in addressing rising global inequality and achieving an inclusive economic recovery. This encompasses support for national programmes of developing countries aimed at tackling social and environmental challenges, reducing poverty, narrowing the technological gap and modernising infrastructure.
