President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon called on the international community to join forces to achieve peace, security and stability on a global scale. In his speech at the BRICS+ and BRICS and the Global South: Jointly Building a Better World meetings, he focused on the need to jointly combat terrorism and extremism, the press office of the President of Tajikistan reported.
Rahmon proposed developing a special resolution «The Decade of Strengthening Peace for Future Generations». He expressed belief that this initiative would receive broad support in the international arena.
The President emphasised that Tajikistan is set to expand cooperation with partners in combating cybercrime and climate change that negatively impact people’s health and well-being and weaken economic growth of countries. The President of Tajikistan noted that significant resources are required to respond to natural disasters.
Emomali Rahmon reminded that Dushanbe will host the International High-Level Conference on Glaciers Preservation in May next year in accordance with the UN General Assembly Resolution and invited the leaders of the BRICS Member States to take part in this important event.
