President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov met on the sidelines of the BRICS Summit in Kazan. The interlocutors agreed on future bilateral visits and the expansion of industrial and economic cooperation, the press office of the President of Uzbekistan reported.
The key issues under discussion included the enhancement of bilateral cooperation between Tatarstan and the regions of Uzbekistan.
The leaders emphasised successful cooperation between the major enterprises of the two regions. They focused on expanding the activities in the joint economic and industrial zones in Uzbekistan.
President Mirziyoyev took part in the welcoming ceremony of the heads of delegations at the Summit, where he was greeted by Russian President Vladimir Putin. The leaders of other states and the representatives of international organisations attended the event.
