The opening ceremony of the National Football Academy of the Kyrgyz Football Union took place in Bishkek. President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov and President of the Asian Football Confederation Shaikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa attended the opening ceremony, the press office of the President of Kyrgyzstan reported.
The Academy occupies an area of 33.74 hectares and houses the modern sports facilities, including football fields with different types of surfaces, a hotel, training grounds, a gym, spectator stands and a cafeteria.
The Academy was built with the financial support of the international and local partners — FIFA, the Asian Football Confederation, the Football Support Fund and the Kyrgyz Football Union.
There used to be a city training ground on this site, which was transformed into the sports complex thanks to the joint efforts of the Government and partners. Sadyr Japarov and Shaikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa inspected the living conditions of football players during the ceremony.
