On 16 October, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov met with President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari in Islamabad. The interlocutors discussed aspects of interstate cooperation in the framework of the agreements reached earlier, the press office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reported.
The interlocutors discussed promoting economic cooperation as a key vector of partnerships that has a propound potential for increasing bilateral trade and diversifying mutually beneficial relations. They noted the importance of partnerships in the energy and transport sectors. In this context, they highlighted the importance of enhancing joint efforts to implement the TAPI and TAP projects.
Following the meeting, the Pakistani side expressed gratitude to the leadership of Turkmenistan for their contribution to fostering friendship and brotherly relations between the two countries.
