On October 14, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a working meeting with Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Tangryguly Atakhalliyev and the heads of regional administration. The President reviewed the progress of the implementation of the National Rural Development Programme and the seasonal agricultural campaigns, Turkmenistan: Golden Age eNewspaper reported.
Atahalliyev reported on ongoing measures in the domestic agro-industrial sector. He emphasised that every effort is being made to harvest cotton according to schedule and ensure uninterrupted delivery of raw cotton to receiving points and enterprises. The Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers informed about the progress in harvesting potatoes, vegetables, melons, gourds and fruits. Rice harvesting continues in Dashoguz and Lebap regions, and preparations for sugar beet harvesting are underway in Mary region.
The President instructed that appropriate measures be taken to accelerate the agricultural campaign and ensure compliance of agricultural activities with schedule. Serdar Berdimuhamedov ordered the procurement of fodder in sufficient quantities and the preparation of wintering sites for livestock be kept under strict control.
