President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov signed the Decree authorising to hold the 3rd People’s Kurultai on December 20 this year. About 700 delegates are expected to participate in the event, the press office of the President of Kyrgyzstan reported.
The main goal of Kurultai is to strengthen the foundations of people’s power. It seeks to promote national consciousness and maintain unity and cohesion among citizens of the Republic.
This initiative is also aimed at uniting civil society, which will ensure more sustainable development of the Republic.
A special committee will select delegates for the People’s Kurultai that will consist of authorised representatives of the President in the regions, as well as representatives of local governments and local self-government bodies. Employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs will maintain order and ensure security during the people’s assembly.
