The Tajikistan team successfully performed at the 2024 World Nomad Games (WNG-2024), which were held in Astana. The team won six bronze medals, ASIA-Plus reported.
On the last day of the Games, the Tajik team won a bronze medal in the ordo tournament. The participants in this traditional game use a throwing disc (shake) to knock the opponent’s chips and bones out of the circle, demonstrating high accuracy and strength. Last week, Saifiddin Saifiddinzoda won a bronze medal the under 80 kg weight category of the Turkish wrestling tournament. The Tajikistan team added a bronze medal in the knucklebones (asyk atu) tournament to the medal table of the national team. Wrestlers Dadahon Kurbonaliev (over 100 kg) and Khaknazar Nazarov (under 90 kg) took third places in their weight categories in the Kazakh kuresi tournament. Hamroz Radjabov contributed to the team’s success by winning a bronze medal in the Kazakh wrestling tournament.
The Secretariat of the World Nomad Games, headed by Nursultan Adenov, noted that each bronze medallist will receive a prize of 200,000 tenge.
