Uzbekistan improves treatments for hepatitis and diabetes mellitus

It is planned to revise another 300 clinical protocols to boost the healthcare sector by the end of 2024.

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev was informed about the activities and new ideas of the Centre for Healthcare Projects. The treatments for 7 most common diseases, including coronary heart disease, bronchial asthma, hepatitis, diabetes mellitus and hypertension, are being upgraded in the country, the press office of the President of Uzbekistan reported.

It is planned to revise another 300 clinical protocols by the end of the year.

Henceforth, nurses instead of doctors will prescribe laboratory tests and non-drug therapy for patients. Patient appointment systems at clinics will be optimised to reduce patient waiting time.

The President supported the adoption of a digital health approach in Tashkent by stuffing medical institutions with modern equipment and computers.

It was noted that over the past 7 years, health financing has risen from 5.9 trillion to 33.5 trillion soums, i.e. 6 times.
