In Kyrgyzstan prices for alcohol and cigarettes expected to rise

The excise taxes on cigars, e-liquids, and tobacco will also increase.

On February 3, the State Tax Service of Kyrgyzstan announced an increase in excise taxes on cigarettes, e-liquids, tobacco, cigars, and all alcoholic products. It was noted that they are increasing annually to harmonize excise rates within the EAEU, as reported by the press office of the tax service of Kyrgyzstan.

The annual increase in excise rates is provided to protect the health of citizens of the country from the harmful effects of tobacco and alcohol.

Thus, the excise tax on filtered cigarettes, non-filter cigarettes, and cigarettes has been increased from 1750 soms to 2000 soms per 1000 pieces. From January 1, 2022, this amount will increase by 250 soms.

This year the amount of excise tax on cigarillos for 1,000 pieces will be 1,400 soms instead of 1,220 in 2020, and from 2022 it will rise to 1,610 soms. The amount of excise tax per cigar increased by 25 soms compared to last year and amounted to 175 soms, in 2022 it will increase by another 25 soms.

At the same time, the rate of excise duty on ethyl alcohol is fixed at 120 soms per 1 liter. Previously this rate was 100 soms. In the next two years, the excise tax will increase by 20 soms annually.
