Minister of Internal Affairs Ramazon Rahimzoda said that the law enforcement agencies had established closer contacts with the population.
On January 13, the collegium of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Tajikistan held a meeting to evaluate the work done by the law enforcement agencies in 2020. Their performance was assessed as satisfactory, the press office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reports.
Minister of Internal Affairs Ramazon Rahimzoda said that the law enforcement agencies had conducted effective decontamination activities to combat coronavirus infection. He stated that law enforcement officers also had conducted awareness raising events throughout the country.
The Minister pointed out a number of shortcomings, highlighting the importance of strengthening the fight against terrorism, extremism and illicit drug trafficking. The high-ranking official emphasised that particular attention should be paid to investigating the crimes recorded over the past years, locating fugitives wanted and improving road safety.
Rahimzoda said that the law enforcement agencies had established closer contacts with the population in 2020. In conclusion, the Minister instructed that tree-planting activities be conducted throughout Tajikistan and public awareness of efficient electric energy consumption be raised.
