Arab businessmen to invest in gas projects of Turkmenistan

The process will be realized in the frame of the partnership between Somo Al Mamlakah and the state concern Turkmengaz.

The representatives of the state concern Turkmengaz plan to expand partnership with a private company from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia — Somo Al Mamlakah. The topic was raised as a part of a video conference at the oil and gas complex of Turkmenistan on July 17. It was reported by the NEBIT-GAZ news agency.

The discussion was focused on the intensification of capital investments in the gas sector. Moreover, the agenda of the meeting included reviewing several important issues of cooperation in the oil and gas industry.

The representatives of Turkmengaz spoke about the implementation of some gas projects in the country. Within the topic, they highlighted the huge potential of the TAPI gas pipeline. The Arab party expressed its readiness to participate in the construction of the gas main on the basis of long-term investment cooperation.

The online meeting was also attended by employees of the state concern Turkmenhimiya and the State Bank of Foreign Economic Affairs of Turkmenistan. They touched upon the development of multilateral cooperation with Somo Al Mamlakah.

It must be added that the TAPI pipeline will be used to transport gas from Turkmenistan to Afghanistan, Pakistan, and India. The total length of the gas main will be about 1800 kilometers.
