Humanitarian cargo from the World Health Organization has been delivered to the Lebap province, Turkmenistan on July 16. The aid included 320 thousand medical masks. They were delivered by plane to the Turkmenabat International Airport, as reported by the «Turkmenistan Today» news agency.

The corresponding cargo also included 130 thousand respirators, more than 88 thousand face shields, over 18 thousand glasses, and 12 thousand medical gowns. The personal protective equipment was sent by special transport to Ashgabat. From there, it will be distributed between hospitals.

The WHO representative who accompanied the cargo underlined that today it is very important for the peoples of the world to cooperate at the humanitarian level.

It must be added that on July 6 the WHO mission arrived in Turkmenistan to analyze the epidemiological situation in the country. Following the results of 10 days of work, the international experts marked that the state implements effective measures on preventing novel coronavirus infection.

At the moment, the government of the country, together with the United Nations agencies, has started to develop the third national plan, which covers the humanitarian aspect of measures on combating the COVID-19.
