The process will be implemented through the construction of new cement plants in the Akhal and Lebap provinces.
New cement plants will be built in the Akhal and Lebap provinces, Turkmenistan. The total capacity of the facilities will allow increasing the annual production of cement by 2 million tons. It was reported to CentralAsia.news by "Turkmenistan today" on June 19.
The process will be implemented within a partnership between the Ministry of Industry and Construction Operations, and the Beýik-Bina and Türkmen enjam companies. The corresponding resolution with permission was signed by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
In the frame of the projects, the second stage of the Baherden plant (Akhal province) and the Koytendag plant (Lebap province) will be realized. The construction will be started in July 2020 and finished in December 2022. Each of the economic entities will produce 1 million tons of cement per year.
Berdimuhamedov highlighted that the expansion of the corresponding production was initiated due to the need for cement in the construction of various industrial and socio-cultural facilities.
It must be added that in Turkmenistan there are currently 4 cement plants with a total annual capacity of 4 million tons. They are located in Akhal, Balkan, and Lebap provinces.
