On January 29, a meeting on Turkmenistan’s Chairmanship of the UN Special Programme for the Economies of Central Asia (SPECA) took place in Geneva. Permanent Representative of Turkmenistan to the UN Vepa Hajiev presented in detail the concept of the Chairmanship and the events scheduled to take place this year, the press office of the diplomatic mission of Turkmenistan reported.
The participants exchanged views on upcoming joint activities, in particular the progress of the implementation of the agreements reached during the previous SPECA sessions.
The heads of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) and the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) and the permanent representatives of the SPECA participating countries accredited in Geneva attended the meeting.
