On November 29, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov delivered a report at a regular government meeting, informing President Serdar Berdimuhamedov about the preparations for the meeting of the Turkmenistan-United Nations Strategic Advisory Council, Turkmenistan: Golden Age eNewspaper reported.
Meredov noted that the participants would review the drafts of three programmes for cooperation with the UN in preventing human trafficking, ensuring peace and security, climate change, methane emissions and green energy. They will discuss the Roadmap for 2025-2027 on Strengthening Reporting on the Sustainable Development Goals in Turkmenistan, the issues related to the UN Climate Technology Centre in Central Asia and Turkmenistan’s progress in achieving the SDGs.
Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasised that Turkmenistan promotes multifaceted cooperation with the UN and its agencies. The Turkmenistan-United Nations Strategic Advisory Council plays a special role in this process. The President instructed Meredov to ensure the high organisational level of the upcoming Council meeting.
