On November 4, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a working meeting with Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Tangryguly Atakhalliyev and the heads of regional administration. The President heard the reports on ongoing work in the agro-industrial sector and the progress of the implementation of the National Rural Development Programme, Turkmenistan: Golden Age eNewspaper reported.
Atakhalliyev reported on the optimisation of raw cotton harvesting. The Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers noted that the effective use of specialised equipment and vehicles ensures that raw cotton is delivered uninterruptedly to receiving points and ginneries. Work is underway to gather the wheat harvest in the coming year. Rice harvesting is underway in Dashoguz and Lebap Regions, and sugar beet harvesting is underway in Mary Region.
The President highlighted the importance of the ongoing agricultural campaigns. Berdimuhamedov emphasised that the completion of the sowing campaign in accordance with schedule will ensure a rich harvest. In this regard, the President ordered the proper implementation and compliance of seasonal agricultural activities with agrotechnical requirements be under strict control.
