Chairman of the Government of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov held a meeting with the Chinese businessmen in Shanghai during his official visit to China. The visit programme of the Kazakh delegation included a meeting with Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China Li Qiang and a visit to the 7th China International Import Expo, the press office of the Government of Kazakhstan reported.
Prime Minister Bektenov noted the broad prospects for joint investment projects and emphasised the need to promote industrial cooperation. The Chinese side confirmed that China is ready to expand strategic partnerships with Kazakhstan.
The main goal of the visit is to implement the interstate agreement to double bilateral trade. It was noted that trade between the two countries reached a historical record high of $41 billion last year.
The Investment Forum brought together heads of major economic sectors, including the metallurgical, energy, mechanical engineering and pharmaceutical industries. Employees of the interested ministries and top managers of the largest companies from Kazakhstan took part in the event as well.
