Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Zhaparov said the authorities of the Republic are considering building an international airport in Jalal-Abad Region. He made this statement at the ceremony marking the arrival of a new Bombardier Dash Q8400 aircraft, the press office of the Government of Kyrgyzstan reported.
The Chairman of the Government noted that a Bombardier Dash 8 Q400 aircraft is developed for short-haul routes, emphasising that it will be used for regular flights between the regions and cities of Kyrgyzstan. This aircraft will help increase the number and expand the geography of flights, which will contribute to boosting the economy and tourism industry.
The Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers noted that funds of the Manas International Airport were used to reconstruct the airports in Karakol, Kazarman, Kerben, Talas and Naryn. Zhaparov emphasised that the Manas International Airport has made significant progress over the past 3 years. In 2023, its profit exceeded 6 billion soms.
