Tashkent to host Central Asia Retail Week

The large-scale event will bring together over 1,500 experts, government officials and entrepreneurs.

On October 16-17, the capital of Uzbekistan will host the international e-commerce and retail trade forum Central Asia Retail Week. The organisers are the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia, the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan and the Russian Association of Retail Market Experts, the press office of the organisers reported.

The forum will provide a platform for meetings of retailers, suppliers and consumer goods companies that offer retail technology solutions and innovations. 

Consulting companies, industry associations and government officials will attend the event, which will provide a unique opportunity to establish business contacts and exchange experiences.

The event will bring together over 200 speakers and 1,500 specialists from Russia and foreign countries. The distinguished participants include the Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan Laziz Kudratov, his deputy Khurram Teshabaev and Director of the Department for Domestic Trade Development at the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia Nikita Kuznetsov.

Lenta Project Manager Dmitry Chistyakov, Zood Uzbekistan Manager Jakhongir Usmonov, Director of FinTech Association Uzbekistan Nargis Dustmatova, President of the Russian Association of Retail Market Experts Andrey Karpov and Uzum Market Managing Director Ilshat Khametov will represent the major large companies and associations at the forum. Yandex E-com Director for Interaction with Government Authorities Dmitry Rusakov and Baraka Market Director for Development Alexander Mironichev are expected to participate and make presentations at the forum.

The programme will include several key blocks. 35 sessions will focus on personnel issues, franchising, FinTech, information technology, trade marketing and fashion retail. The plenary discussion on practices of state regulation of trade industry will give participants an opportunity to discuss the principles and methods of state regulation of retail trade.

The Trade and Procurement Exchange will arrange 15-minute meetings with major retailers for suppliers and manufacturers, at which they will present their products and equipment and establish long-term cooperation. An important event of the forum is the Retail Week Awards ceremony to recognise the leaders of e-commerce in 10 different nominations, including the Largest Central Asia Network, the Fastest Growing Central Asia Network and the FinTech Retail Trade Project of the Year, among others. Registration for the competition will be open until September 15.
