President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon instructed the Government to draft a law on the status of teachers and submit it to Parliament for consideration. The President made this statement during the meeting with educational employees in Dushanbe at the new building of school 19 on September 1.
The ministries of education and science, justice, finance, labour, migration and employment, economic development and trade, the Agency for Supervision of Education and Science and the National Centre of Legislation were given 6 months to draft the law.
In his speech, Emomali Rahmon reminded teachers of the importance of total dedication to work, emphasising the need for sincere love for their profession, strong will and high professionalism.
He said the authorities must support teachers and employees of educational institutions and raise their prestige and authority in society. He emphasised that over 130,000 future teachers are studying in the Republic today, of which over 71% are women.
