President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov congratulated citizens on Knowledge Day. He emphasised that the Government is paying increased attention to the welfare of children, particularly in the regions of the Republic, the press office of the President of Kyrgyzstan reported.
According to statistics, over 127,000 children throughout the country have gone to school for the first time in 2024. Japarov noted that the education system lays the foundation for the development of other areas and a key priority for the authorities of the country.
Keeping up with the global trends, Kyrgyzstan is seeking to ensure the sustainable development of education. This year, the country has switched to a 12-year school education system, which is a significant step forward. For the first time in the history of the Republic, funds from the state budget were committed for the purchase of laptops for teachers, which should significantly improve the quality of teaching and professional skills.
Schools focus not only on teaching sciences and technical subjects, but also to on fostering respect for elders and mentors and safeguarding national traditions and customs. The knowledge of the Kyrgyz language as the official language of the Republic is a key aspect.
