Over 900 tonnes of humanitarian aid delivered to Tajikistan from Russia and UN

Food products from Russia will be distributed among 2,000 schools in Tajikistan under the UN School Feeding Programme.

The RF Embassy in Tajikistan and the UN World Food Programme donated food products in humanitarian aid to the Ministry of Education and Science of Tajikistan. This batch contained 147 tonnes of enriched sunflower oil, 150 tonnes of peas and 678 tonnes of fortified wheat flour, part of which is about 393 tonnes, the press office of the UNWFP in Tajikistan reported.

Humanitarian aid was delivered to Sughd Region. The aim is to distribute food products among 2,000 rural schools in the Republic under the WFP School Feeding Programme, which is funded by Russia.

It is planned to deliver another 1,354 tonnes of humanitarian aid to Tajikistan.

Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Tajikistan Dilshod Safarzoda, Charge d’Affaires of the Russian Federation in Tajikistan Vera Khutorskaya and WFP Representative and Country Director in Tajikistan Adham Musallam attended the ceremony.
