MIA of Tajikistan denies rumours about service of Tajik citizens in Russia

Thousands of graduates of Russian universities serve in Tajikistan, since they must work in their profession at home for at least 5 years upon graduation.

Citizens of Tajikistan who have accomplished higher education programmes of the RF Ministry of Internal Affairs are required to return to the Republic after graduation and work in local internal affairs bodies for at least 5 years. This information was provided by the personnel training department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Tajikistan, TASS reports.

Thus, rumours actively spread on Telegram about service of Tajik citizens in Russian police departments were refuted.

The representative of the department added that since 2007 Tajikistan has an agreement with the RF Ministry of Internal Affairs that students from Tajikistan receive education at educational institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Graduates are required to work in internal affairs bodies of Tajikistan for 5 years upon graduation. Candidates are selected to fill the allocated quotas, and students occupy positions in the police.

The interlocutor emphasised that graduates from Tajikistan cannot work for the RF Ministry of Internal Affairs, since foreign citizens cannot serve in law enforcement agencies of Russia in accordance with the law.
