President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held official talks with a delegation of the National People’s Congress of China, led by Chairman of the Standing Committee Zhao Leji. They discussed inter-parliamentary cooperation and the opening of new branches of Chinese universities in Uzbekistan, the press office of the President of Uzbekistan reported.
The interlocutors discussed cooperation in vocational education and the activities of the Confucius Institute in Uzbekistan.
President Mirziyoyev and Zhao Leji agreed to hold the Second Education Forum next year. The issues under discussion included cultural exchange and tourism.
The key issues included the expansion of inter-parliamentary interaction, the exchange of experience among parliamentarians and the study of legislative practice to support the planned reforms. The parties are set to develop a road map to deepen cooperation between the Parliaments of Uzbekistan and China.
