Kazakhstan ranks 62nd out of 93 countries, scoring 51 points out of 100 possible in the 2024 education rankings. According to ranking.kz, the education quality index assesses the state education system, higher education institutions funding, students’ readiness for learning, the number of higher education institutions and world rankings.
The leaders in the 2024 education rankings are the UK, USA, Australia, the Netherlands and Sweden. Compared to other CIS Member States, Kazakhstan comes in third place after Russia and Kyrgyzstan, and Azerbaijan closes the list.
In the first quarter of the year, higher education services worth 126 billion tenge were rendered, which is almost the same as last year. The largest portion of services rendered were funded by the state budget, although the reduction in this sector stood at 7,9%. Higher education services funded by the population increased to 57 billion tenge, or by 5,5%, and those funded by businesses — to 6.2 billion tenge, or by 93,6%.
«Last year, 284 young scientists moved to new apartments. This year, I have ordered 200 apartments be allocated to young scientists,» President Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev said, addressing scientists last week.
He presented 10 housing certificates during the meeting.
