Sadyr Japarov speaks against tax on livestock

The draft law turned to be resonant.

President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov does not support the draft law on taxation of livestock owners, proposed by a parliamentarian Jenishbek Toktorbaev, Head of the press office of the President of Kyrgyzstan Daiyrbek Orunbekov reported.

He noted that the society responded negatively to the parliamentarian’s proposal, and some citizens regarded it as the position of the authorities. President Sadyr Japarov is seeking to create favourable conditions for farmers and rural workers and does not endorse the imposition of a tax on livestock.

«In accordance with the Order of the President, agricultural land was exempt from taxes for 3 years in April 2022,» Orunbekov said.

Jenishbek Toktorbaev proposed amendments to the Tax and Budget Codes of the Kyrgyz Republic. He proposed that taxpayers would have to pay once a year for sheep and goats, cattle and horses. These funds should flow to the rural government budget and used to address social issues, including veterinary care, timely vaccination, improvement of pastures and infrastructure.
