On May 28, Tajikistan celebrated the 29th anniversary of the Border Troops of the State Committee for National Security of Tajikistan. On that day, two new border checkpoints Ayvaj and Mekhnat opened, the press office of the President of Tajikistan reported to CentralAsia.news.
President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon visited the Ayvaj border checkpoint to inspect the conditions of service and life of border guards and the state border control centre, which is equipped with state-of-the-art surveillance equipment and fenced with razor wire 10 km in length.
The new border checkpoints are equipped with modern technical means for protecting the border. 100 types of military equipment were delivered to the new border checkpoints to mark the holiday.
The President inspected the conditions of service and life at the Mekhnat border checkpoint. Rahmon visited the weapon storehouses, classrooms, a library, places for recreation and a first-aid post. 4 apartment houses equipped with everything border guard officers need for a comfortable life were built on the territory of the border checkpoint. The President presented them the keys to their new apartments.
