Kazakhstan officially lifts COVID restrictions

Henceforth COVID-19 will be treated like other viral diseases.

The Ministry of Health of Kazakhstan reported that all the coronavirus pandemic restrictions are lifted, the press office of the Ministry reported to CentralAsia.news.

According to the Ministry, the stable epidemic situation in Kazakhstan and in the world has made it possible to cancel the decisions of the Chief State Sanitary Doctor of the Republic of Kazakhstan regarding public health measures and restrictions imposed on educational institutions and the Ashyq project. All COVID restrictions were lifted after the WHO had declared an end to COVID-19 as a public health emergency.

However, the virus continues to circulate around the world, and Kazakhstan continues to monitor the incidence of COVID cases in the country. The Ministry of Health noted that this work will be conducted on an ongoing basis, and COVID-19 will be treated like other viral diseases.

The Resolution of the Chief State Sanitary Doctor of the Republic of Kazakhstan, signed on May 19, provides detailed information on the new rules for protecting the population from coronavirus.
