Ecologists of Kyrgyzstan and Russia to exchange experience in protecting rare species

The agreements were reached at the forum in Kazan.

Russian and Kyrgyz ecologists are set to exchange experience in protecting the rare animals, in particular the snow leopard. The main task of the two countries is to protect the animal and restore the ecosystems in which it lives, Rossiyskaya Gazeta reports.

Russia and Kyrgyzstan reached an agreement on joint work at the International Economic Forum “Russia – Islamic World: KazanForum – 2023”. Head of the Secretariat of the Global Snow Leopard and Ecosystem Protection Program (Kyrgyzstan) Chyngyz Kochorov said the two countries have established scientific ties, but the potential for cooperation remains untapped.

All the countries where the snow leopard lives need to be involved in the work to protect it. Cooperation and exchange of experience will help find and apply best practices.
