On May 20, President of the Kyrgyz Republic of Sadyr Japarov visited the Zhongtong Bus Holding Co., Ltd. bus plant in the city of Jinan during his state visit to China. He took part in the launching ceremony and presentation of the first bus of 1,000 to be supplied to Kyrgyzstan, the press office of the President of Kyrgyzstan reports.
Earlier, 120 buses have been bought from the Chinese bus plant for Bishkek. The buses were successfully tested on the roads in the capital city, and it was decided to purchase another 1,000 buses from the budgetary funds.
«The first batch of 500 buses is expected to be delivered in stages during the year, and another 500 buses will be supplied in 2024,» the report says.
In total, the Kyrgyz side will have more than 1,000 modern, eco-friendly buses, which will solve the public transportation problems in the capital city.
Zhongtong Bus Holding Co., Ltd. was founded in 1958 and has been producing buses since 1971. It was listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange in 2000. The company is one of the earliest listed bus manufacturers in China.
