On May 15, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon had a telephone conversation with Chairman of Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. The interlocutors discussed the preparations for the high-level regional events, including the Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia and a meeting of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea, the press office of the President of Tajikistan reports.
These events are scheduled to take place in the capital of Tajikistan in September.
The conversation focused on the entire spectrum of bilateral cooperation, the current regional and global agenda and the results of the visit of President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov to Dushanbe.
As was reported, Serdar Berdimuhamedov paid a two-day state visit to Dushanbe, during which he held a bilateral meeting with his Tajik counterpart. The interlocutors discussed cooperation in industrial, trade, humanitarian and other sectors.
The Turkmen leader invited Rahmon to visit Ashgabat at any convenient time. The Tajik leader accepted the invitation.
