Smailov meets with medium-sized businesses of Kazakhstan

The meeting focused on the further development of medium-sized businesses and further state support to entrepreneurs.

On May 12, Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov had a meeting with the representatives of medium-sized businesses and discussed with them the pressing issues of promoting entrepreneurship in the country, the press office of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan reports.

The entrepreneurs from the capital city, Almaty and Shymkent, heads of ministries and departments, representatives of NCE Atameken, local authorities and heads of organisations responsible for providing state support and promoting business ideas attended the meeting.

Prime Minister Smailov emphasised that great hopes are placed on medium-sized businesses as a driving force for progress and a driver for the development of manufacturing sector and a wide range of services.

The participants discussed the important issues, including improvement of the financing system of the business sector, growth in industrial production and exploration of new industrial areas, support for public procurement, development of industrial zones and industrial parks, growth in in exports and creation of new jobs.

The ministers of trade and integration, industry and infrastructure development, science and higher education and health commented on problematic issues in each of the sectors. Prime Minister Smailov said necessary measures would be taken involving government employees to address the issues discussed.

The participants reported on the plans to abolish 10,000 unreasonable requirements, automate procedures at state control bodies and improve public-private partnerships to support medium-sized businesses.
