Japarov signs decrees to open Consulates General of Kyrgyzstan in two Russian cities

The Kyrgyz Republic will open its diplomatic missions in St. Petersburg and Kazan.

Kyrgyz leader Sadyr Japarov signed the decrees to open the Consulates General of the Kyrgyz Republic in St. Petersburg and Kazan. This decision aims to promote multifaceted relations with the Russian Federation, the press office of the President of Kyrgyzstan reported to CentralAsia.news.

In accordance with the decrees, the diplomatic missions are tasked to expand cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and the regions of the Russian Federation, build up economic and cultural cooperation between the two countries and provide effective consular services.

The Government of Kyrgyzstan will provide administrative and financial support for the diplomatic missions. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will close the office of the Embassy in St. Petersburg.

During the one-to-one meeting with RF President Vladimir Putin in Moscow, Japarov stressed that the Consulates General would create favourable conditions for Kyrgyz citizens to stay in these cities and ensure the legality of their residence in St. Petersburg and Kazan.
