The conference and exhibition «International transport and transit corridors: interconnectedness and development-2023» has started in Ashgabat. Foreign representatives who took part in the event noted the importance of the activities of the state in expanding the potential of transit traffic in the region, as reported by the state news agency «Turkmenistan today».Experts noted that the Central Asian state is making efforts to increase the volume of relevant traffic. Attention was paid to the cardinal reconstruction of the local transport network, strengthening the international cooperation of Turkmenistan.
The emphasis was placed on the importance of the construction of the Ashgabat-Turkmenabat highway, which is one of the largest projects in the country. The high-speed artery will ensure the integration of transit transport communications into an extensive network of roads going to the Asia-Pacific region. Cargo transportation along this route will be carried out quickly and inexpensively.
The conference participants recalled that president Serdar Berdimuhamedov is promoting the idea of reviving the Great Silk Road. They also noted that the relevant topic is revealed in the book by the Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov «Turkmenistan is the heart of the Great Silk Road».
In addition, the speakers focused on the importance of holding the current conference for the development of transport and logistics routes.
