Montenegro set to exempt Uzbek citizens from tourist visas

The European state is taking measures to attract tourists.

The Government of Montenegro is planning to waive tourist visa requirements from tourists from Uzbekistan for up to 30 days. This was told to journalists by a representative of the Prestige Travel tour agency, UPL.UZ reports.

Now citizens of the Republic can enter Montenegro with a visa, after the border police has put an entry stamp in their passport. However, a representative of the Prestige Travel tour agency reported that the visa rules will change in June 2023, during the tourist season. Montenegro is thus planning to attract new guests from the friendly country.

It is incredibly critical for Montenegro to promote tourism, as this economic sector accounts for 31% of Montenegro’s GDP. The coronavirus epidemic has hit hard Montenegro’s tourism industry, and now local authorities are making serious efforts to drive a surge in  tourist arrivals.
