On March 4, Head of the Department for Preparation of Decisions of the President and Government of the Office of the President of Kyrgyzstan Aibek Junushaliev met with the representatives of the French electric utility company EDF during his working trip to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, the press office of the Government of Kyrgyzstan reported.
The parties discussed potential cooperation on the Kambarata HPP-1 regional project.
The interlocutors considered possible options for cooperation and attraction of investment of the company and other potential investors and international financial institutions to implement the project.
The participants agreed to soon discuss the financial aspects of the project implementation and the conditions of cooperation, as well as to hold a series of consultations in Bishkek.
The Kambarata HPP-1 will be the largest power facility of the Kambarata HPP cascade. The project provides for the construction of a rockfill dam 265 metres high and an 1,860 MW power plant.
