Sadyr Japarov instructs to prevent corruption in arrangements for Hajj to Mecca

The President reminded about financial violations in the pilgrimage arrangements in the previous years.

President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov met with Chairman of the State Commission for Religious Affairs Toygonbay Abdykarov and Supreme Mufti, Chairman of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kyrgyzstan Zamir kary Rakiev to discuss the arrangements for the upcoming pilgrimage to Mecca, the press office of the President of Kyrgyzstan reports.

This year Saudi Arabia has granted a quota of 6,110 pilgrims from Kyrgyzstan who will be allowed to perform Hajj to Mecca, the Mufti said. The Task Force for the Hajj arrangements, consisting of representatives of state bodies, including law enforcement agencies, and responsible for preventing corruption, ensuring transparency and controlling the use of funds, was set up.

Abdykarov reported on the activities and priority plans of the Commission for the near future. Japarov highlighted the great importance of preventing corruption in the pilgrimage arrangements. He reminded about financial violations in the pilgrimage arrangements in the previous years.

The President noted that pilgrims spend much money, and they have the right to know how their money is spent, and corruption is therefore unacceptable.
