Over 400 billion soums to be earmarked from budget to install solar panels in Tashkent

“Green” energy will be supplied to over a thousand buildings in the capital of Uzbekistan.

Solar panels will be installed on the buildings of budgetary organisations in the capital of Uzbekistan in the near future. For these purposes, more than 400 billion soums will be earmarked from the republican and city budgets, the press office of the Tashkent Assembly of People’s Deputies reported to CentralAsia.news.

About a thousand buildings will be switched fully or partially to “green” energy. These include schools, kindergartens, government agencies and departments.

For these purposes, about 390 billion soums will be earmarked from the city budget. Another 25 billion soums in loan will come from the republican budget. It is planned to mobilise the funds from other sources.

The authorities of Tashkent are going to compensate for the costs of installing solar panels from additional revenues of local budgets in 2023 and 2024.
