Japarov opens new rehabilitation centre in Chui Region

In his speech, the Prime Minister said the Government is set to raise benefits and welfare payments.

On February 7, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic Akylbek Japarov attended the opening ceremony of the social and labour rehabilitation centre in Sokuluk district during his working trip to Chui Region. Speaking at the ceremony, he focused on the support for socially vulnerable populations and people with disabilities, the press office of the Government of Kyrgyzstan reports. 

The Chairman of the Government said 15.8 billion soms were earmarked for benefits and welfare payments from the Republican budget. Electricity tariffs were reduced by 50%, and guardians of disabled people since childhood received lifelong state support.

Japarov promised that this work would continue. The Prime Minister noted that the most important thing is to create decent living conditions and make society more inclusive for people with disabilities.

The three-storey centre has the classrooms for students and schoolchildren, sewing room, carpentry room and a wheelchair repair and maintenance workshop. It houses 16 apartments with modern conveniences so that people with disabilities will enjoy a comfortable stay.
