Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan issues press release for its citizens in Turkey

The Embassy of Kyrgyzstan is gathering details on earthquake victims and survivors in Turkey.

On February 6, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic reported that according to preliminary information, there are no Kyrgyz citizens among those who have been injured in the earthquake in Turkey. Currently, the Embassy of Kyrgyzstan to Turkey is gathering details on earthquake victims, the press office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan reports.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan, citizens of Kyrgyzstan who are living in Turkey, if necessary, can call the hotlines for help or advice.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that 67 people were killed and 440 were injured in the earthquake that had struck 7 provinces of Turkey. However, the number of victims needs to be confirmed.

According to Turkish media, tremors were felt in nearby provinces, mainly in Hatay, Osmaniye, Adiyaman, Gaziantep, Sanliurfa, Diyarbakir, Malatya and Adana. Turkey has issued the highest level of alarm. The authorities of Turkey have requested international assistance. The devastating earthquake in Turkey was also felt in neighbouring countries, including Syria, Lebanon, Northern Cyprus, Greek Cyprus and Iraq.
