Honoured Artist of Uzbekistan Rano Chodiyeva received an award of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Film Festival in Mumbai. She won the Best Actor (Female) Award, the press office of the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan reported to CentralAsia.News.
Rano Chodieva received one of the eight SCO awards for her role as Sozhida in the feature film The Fate of a Woman. It is based on real events. The film tells the story of one of the 100 women taken from Syria during the Mehr Operation, performed in accordance with the Decree of President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev. Previously, the film was highly evaluated at the film festival in Turkey, and Rano Shodieva’s acting was highly commended in her republic.
The actress said she views the award as an achievement of the film crew and a victory of the Uzbek cinematography.
The Festival provided a platform for the talks on the resumption of the demonstration of Indian films in Uzbekistan.
