The SCO Friendship and Cooperation Centre held the roundtable meeting entitled «The SCO in a Changing World: On the Way to the New Delhi Summit» in Dushanbe. The themes under discussion included the efforts made by President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon to solve water problems, the press office of the Secretariat of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization reported to CentralAsia.news.
Noting that a few leaders in the world are pursuing the large-scale water policy, Director of the SCO Friendship and Cooperation Centre Abdukhalil Gafurzoda emphasised that the Tajik leader should be commended for his efforts in this area.
Gafurzoda emphasised that only those who have a high sense of humanity are able to make effort to solve water problems. The Director of the SCO Friendship and Cooperation Centre added that the regional and global organisations have supported the international initiatives put forward by President Rahmon.
Tajikistan under the leadership of President Emomali Rahmon has been working effectively in this area for many years and become a leading actor in the global water policy, Gafurzoda said.
