Uzbekistan reiterates its commitment to partnerships with European Union

Minister Kudratov met with the Head of the European Union Delegation in Tashkent.

On January 30, the Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan met with Head of the European Union Delegation Charlotte Adriaen to discuss aspects of trade, economic and investment partnerships, the progress of Uzbekistan’s accession to the World Trade Organization and other important issues, the press office of the Ministry reports.

The participants noted the growth of bilateral trade, which increased by 15,7% and reached $4.4 billion in 2022. The major trading partners of Uzbekistan among the EU countries are Italy, France, Germany, Poland and Lithuania. The status of a GSP beneficiary country has enabled Uzbekistan to increase its exports to European markets by 50%.

The agenda of the meeting focused the progress of the implementation of the EU Multi-Annual Indicative Programme 2021-2024 in Uzbekistan. The interlocutors noted that reforms and transformations in public administration, green economy and agriculture taking place under the New Uzbekistan Strategy comply with the Programme.
