The working groups of the Dushanbe Main Department of Environmental Protection conducted the events aimed at raising environmental awareness and improving environmental literacy of citizens of the country. Residents of Dushanbe were encouraged to take care of the environment, the Khovar State News Agency reported.
The events were conducted as part of the national environmental education programme for the period until 2025. It was emphasised that the supervisory authorities pay special attention to monitoring urban improvement and landscaping activities in the capital of Tajikistan.
Residents of Dushanbe were encouraged to be «true lovers of nature». They were advised to plant trees, participate in environmental campaigns, take care of flowers and efficiently use natural resources.
The awareness raising events spotlighted the important work carried out by local authorities to protect the environment. It was noted that Mayor of Dushnabe Rustam Emomali provides wide-scale support in this area.
