Uzbekistan and Iran to expand cooperation in transport and logistics

The parties agreed to continue to use effectively the Port of Bandar Abbas and Chabahar Port.

On January 24, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting with the Iranian delegation headed by IRI Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian. The interlocutors discussed the plan of upcoming events and exchanged views on international issues, the press office of the President of Uzbekistan reported to CentralAsia.news.

The parties emphasised that the agreements reached during the state visit of the IRI President to Uzbekistan in September last year laid a solid foundation to boost mutually beneficial multifaceted partnerships between the two countries.

The Uzbek leader noted with satisfaction the intensification of contacts and the progress in increasing mutual trade and building up cooperation between the major enterprises of the two states.

The interlocutors focused on expanding Uzbekistan-Iran cooperation in transport and logistics, particularly in the effective use of the Port of Bandar Abbas and Chabahar Port.
