The institution was put into operation under the UNWFP programme funded by the Russian Federation.

This was done under the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP), the press office of the RF Embassy reported to CentralAsia.news.

The Centre will help the Ministry of Education and Science monitor the implementation of the programme. Moscow allocated $200,000 for the opening of the institution. These funds were spent on repair work, the purchase of modern equipment and software, as well as the creation of a wage fund for the employees.

In December last year, the Russian Federation allocated $4 million for the purchase of food products for students of educational institutions in Tajikistan, Grigoriev noted.

In total, the Russian Federation has spent over $86 million on the WFP School Feeding Programme. The Ambassador noted that Moscow pays special attention to supporting the younger generation of the Republic of Tajikistan.
