Uzbekistan and Bulgaria to boost cooperation in tourism

A meeting between Deputy Minister of Tourism and Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan Azamov and Minister of Tourism of Bulgaria Dimitrov focused on strengthening partnerships.

On January 16, First Deputy Minister of Tourism and Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan Ulugbek Azamov met with Minister of Tourism of Bulgaria Ilin Dimitrov, the press office of the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Heritage of the Republic reported.

A lively conversation focused on building up bilateral cooperation in the tourism sector. The interlocutors exchanged views on the ways to increase tourist flows and establish cooperation between tourism organisations and companies of the two countries, as well as on the prospects for launching direct flights between the cities of Uzbekistan and Bulgaria.

The Minister of Tourism of Bulgaria was informed about ongoing reforms in Uzbekistan’s tourism sector, aimed at improving the country’s image as a tourism destination and attracting foreign tourists, as well as implementing tourism investment projects and creating an enabling environment for private companies.

The interlocutors agreed to hold B&G and B2B meetings between private sector actors from the two countries in Tashkent this spring and decided to popularise the tourist attractions in Uzbekistan in the Bulgarian media.
