The Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov visited Arkadag city, which is being constructed and is going to become a new administrative center of Ahal province. There he got acquainted with the projects of the mosque, «Turkmenistan today» reports.
The projects were presented by the head of the state committee for the construction of the city and the head of the local administration.
The speaker of the house of parliament was shown layouts and design sketches of the facility. Next to the mosque there will be a building for holding sadaqah. The surrounding area will be landscaped. In the inner wall of the prayer facility there will be a mihrab (a niche in the wall of a mosque that indicates the direction of the Kaaba in Mecca). Berdimuhamedov suggested building a madrasah school nearby.
After that the head of the Halk Maslakhaty held a working meeting with the officials. He stressed that the construction of a mosque in Arkadag will be a historic event. The dates for erecting the facility will be determined in the near future. Sadaqah will be given in honor of this event.
Then, Berdimuhamedov visited the place allocated for the construction of the mosque. It is important to note that the location of the main mosque of the new administrative center of Ahal province was chosen at the suggestion of the head of the Halk Maslakhaty.
